I was gonna title this chapter of my life: how I got my groove back.

But I think a more appropriate heading is: how I'm making up some sort of new groove that's somewhat recognizable but also totally different.

Culture tells new moms the ideal is to get back who you used to be. I bought that lie and stressed myself all the way out.

The goal is not to get back to who you were.
It is to walk forward into who you are becoming.

Life comes at you fast sometimes. Definitely after popping out an offspring.
I've taken some time to just let that overtake me. To let myself do only what is necessary.

To recognize how much I've been striving in my own power and reconcile that trusting God looks like rest sometimes.

I'm beginning to feel up to life again but, this time, at the pace God tells me instead of the one my insecurities and need to produce to feel valued tells me.
